Are my certificate files really safe?
Security, Privacy & Data Protection
Yes, absolutely. Your uploaded certificate files are securely stored and protected using enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure, encryption, and strict access controls.
Secure Cloud Storage
Microsoft Azure Storage
All uploaded files (PDFs, images) are stored securely in Azure Blob Storage, Microsoft's enterprise-grade cloud platform trusted by major organisations worldwide.
- Files are automatically encrypted using strong AES-256 encryption before being stored ('at rest').
- Data transfer to and from storage uses secure HTTPS (TLS 1.2+) encryption ('in transit').
Strict Access Controls
How File Access Works
Access to your files is tightly controlled:
- Files are stored in private containers; they are never publicly accessible and cannot be browsed directly, even by CertNudge staff.
- When you click to view a file, the system generates a secure, temporary access link (SAS URL) that is unique to you and expires after a short time.
- Only your authenticated account can request and use this temporary link.
- There are no permanent public URLs pointing to your files.
Compliance & Reliability
UK Data Centres & Standards
Our storage infrastructure is hosted within Microsoft Azure’s UK-based data centres, which adhere to strict international standards:
- Compliance certifications include ISO 27001 and SOC 1/2/3.
- Fully aligned with UK GDPR requirements.
- Designed for high durability and availability (99.9%+ uptime).
Removing Files
Deleting Uploaded Files
You have full control. If you delete a certificate or its associated document from within CertNudge, the file is immediately and permanently removed from secure storage and cannot be accessed again.
