Do reminders always follow the 60 / 30 / 14 / 7-day pattern regardless of certificate type?

Supported Certificate Types & Validity Rules

Yes - all certificates follow the same 60 / 30 / 14 / 7-day reminder schedule, so you can build consistent compliance habits across your entire portfolio.

Reminder Timing Explained

For every certificate with a valid expiry date, CertNudge sends:

  • 60 days before expiry — gentle heads-up
  • 30 days before — prep time to book inspections
  • 14 days before — countdown begins
  • 7 days before — urgent nudge

This structure applies whether the document renews yearly (like Gas Safety) or less frequently (like EPC or EICR).

Why This Is Global

  • Simplifies workflows: No need to learn different reminder cycles
  • One rhythm for all compliance: Encourages routine and reduces missed tasks
  • Lower cognitive load: Especially helpful for landlords managing many properties
Coming in a future update

We plan to support custom reminder schedules — for example, adding a 90-day or 180-day notice for longer-term certificates like EICRs or HMOs. For now, all follow the 60/30/14/7 pattern.
