How is the “20 % Compliant” badge calculated?

Using the Dashboard

The compliance percentage shows the proportion of *non-expired* certificates in your portfolio, calculated instantly with any changes.

Compliance Calculation Formula

(Green + Amber) ÷ Total Certificates × 100

The percentage of all certificates in your portfolio that have not expired.

Numerator: Valid (Green + Amber)

All certificates that are not expired.

Denominator: Total (Green + Amber + Red)

All certificates in your portfolio.

What Counts Towards Your Score?

Green (60+ days)

Counts as VALID

Amber (1-59 days)

Also counts as VALID

Red (Expired)

Counts as NOT VALID

Example: 80% Compliance

Portfolio Breakdown:

4

Valid Certificates (1 Green + 3 Amber)

5

Total Certificates (1 Green + 3 Amber + 1 Red)

(4 ÷ 5) × 100 = 80%

Your portfolio compliance percentage

80%

More Calculation Examples

100% Compliant
8 Valid ÷ 8 Total

0% Compliant

Instant Updates

Real-Time Recalculation

The compliance percentage updates automatically whenever you make changes:

  • Add a certificate: Total increases, percentage recalculates.
  • Renew an *expired* certificate: Valid count increases, percentage improves.
  • Certificate expires: Valid count decreases, percentage drops.

How to Improve Your Compliance %

Renew Expired (Red) Certificates

The *only* way to improve your score is to fix expired certificates. Renewing an 'Amber' certificate will not change your score, as it was already counted as valid.

Example Improvement
  • Before: 8 valid ÷ 10 total (2 are Red) = 80%
  • Renew 1 Red cert: 9 valid ÷ 10 total = 90%
  • Renew final Red cert: 10 valid ÷ 10 total = 100%

A True Measure of Compliance

This calculation gives you an instant overview of your portfolio's true legal compliance. Only expired (Red) certificates count against your score. 'Amber' certificates are still valid, but our colour-coding and alerts ensure you renew them *before* they can damage your compliance score.
