I’m in Scotland where EICRs and PATs are both 5-year cycles, does the system handle regional rules?

Supported Certificate Types & Validity Rules

Right now, default certificate intervals reflect English regulations - but you can override them easily when they differ in Scotland or Wales.

Manual Adjustment Per Certificate

For now, the system applies the standard English cycle by default (e.g. 5 years for EICR, 1 year for PAT). If you’re in Scotland or another region with different guidance:

  • You can manually change the expiry date after selecting the certificate type
  • Reminders and dashboards will fully respect your chosen date going forward

What We're Working On

Region-aware defaults are on our roadmap for the future, so the system can automatically adjust cycles based on:

  • Property location (e.g. England, Scotland, Wales)
  • Different legal standards (e.g. PAT testing in Scottish tenancies is every 5 years)

This feature will reduce manual input and ensure better compliance out of the box.
