Is there a grace period before my certificates or reminders stop?
Billing & Payments
Yes, there is typically, in most cases a 7-day grace period after a failed payment before any account restrictions are applied but we do reserve the right to pause an account under certain circumstances (regular failed payments for example)
What Happens During the Grace Period? (Approx. Days 1-7)
Full Access Continues
If a scheduled payment fails (e.g., due to an expired card), your account enters a grace period. During this time:
- All features remain active: You can continue using CertNudge without interruption.
- Reminders continue: Automated emails are still sent on schedule.
- Payment Retries: Stripe automatically attempts to retry the payment several times.
- Notifications: You'll receive emails notifying you of the failure and providing a link to update your payment details.
What Happens After the Grace Period? (Approx. Day 8+)
Temporary Account Pause
If payment hasn't succeeded after multiple retries (around 7 days):
- Your account access may be paused (entering a read-only state).
- You won't be able to add or edit properties/certificates.
- Automated email reminders will stop while the account is paused.
- Your data remains safe and is not deleted.
Restoring Full Access
Instant Restoration
As soon as a successful payment is made (either through an automatic retry or after you update your payment method), full access to your account and all features is restored immediately. Email reminders will resume automatically with the next scheduled check (around 07:00 UK time).
