Do reminders use the same schedule for every certificate type?

Supported Certificate Types & Validity Rules

Yes. Eligible certificate records currently use the same reminder milestones regardless of certificate type. CertNudge uses the expiry date recorded against the certificate rather than applying a different schedule for each document type.

Current reminder milestones

60 days

Early reminder

An early prompt to review the record and begin planning any renewal work.

30 days

Follow-up reminder

A further prompt as the recorded expiry date approaches.

14 days

Two-week reminder

A reminder to check progress and confirm any necessary arrangements.

0–7 days

Final reminder window

One final reminder may be sent when the record is first selected within the last seven days before expiry.

The final reminder is not always sent exactly seven days before expiry

The final milestone covers zero to seven days. A record first becoming eligible inside that window can receive one final reminder.

Does the certificate type change the schedule?

No. The current reminder milestones do not change according to whether the record relates to gas, electrical, energy-performance, licensing or another supported certificate type.

Can I create a different schedule?

No. Custom reminder intervals and certificate-specific schedules are not currently available.

Check the recorded expiry date

CertNudge bases reminder eligibility on the date entered by the user. It does not independently verify that the date or renewal period is correct.

Reminders are a supporting tool

Successful email delivery cannot be guaranteed. Continue checking the source documents and arrange inspections, remedial work and renewals when required.
