How do I manually log that I served a document
An authorised CertNudge user can add a service log when they want to record how evidence was shared or served outside a CertNudge share link.
This can be used to record actions such as handing over a printed document, sending an attachment or sharing evidence through another communication method.
What a service log records
A service log records information entered by the CertNudge user, including when they say the evidence was shared, the method used, a recipient description and any optional notes.
How to add a service log
Open the certificate record
Find the relevant property and open the certificate associated with the evidence you shared.
Open the service-record area
Use the available service-record option for the certificate and select the action to add a new record.
Enter the service details
Record the date, method used, recipient description and any relevant notes.
Review before saving
Check that the date, method and description accurately reflect the action you are recording.
What information should I include?
Useful information
- The date and time of the action
- The method used
- A suitable recipient description
- Brief factual context where needed
Information to avoid
- Unnecessary phone numbers
- Unnecessary email addresses
- Identification information
- Sensitive or excessive tenant details
A service log is not proof of receipt
A CertNudge service log is a landlord-entered management record.
It does not prove legal service, delivery, receipt or reading by the person described in the record. Keep any other evidence required by your process and obtain legal advice where necessary.
Keep notes factual and proportionate
Record only the information needed to understand the action. Do not include unnecessary tenant personal data or subjective commentary.
