I made a mistake in a manual log. Can I delete it

Sharing Features

An active service log can be corrected if information was entered incorrectly.

If the record should no longer be relied upon, you can void it and record the reason rather than physically deleting its history.

Correct or void the record

Use the correction option when the service action occurred but part of the recorded information is inaccurate.

Use the void option when the record was created in error or should no longer be treated as a valid management record.

Which action should I use?

Correct the record

Appropriate when the underlying action happened but a detail was entered incorrectly.

For example, you may need to correct the date, method, recipient description or notes.

Void the record

Appropriate when the entry was created by mistake or should no longer be relied upon.

The reason for voiding should briefly and accurately explain what was wrong.

How to void a service log

1

Open the relevant certificate

Find the certificate associated with the service log you want to review.

2

Locate the service log

Open the available service-record area and select the incorrect entry.

3

Select the void action

Use the available option to void the record if it should no longer be relied upon.

4

Record a clear reason

Enter a brief factual explanation, such as the wrong certificate being selected or the action being recorded twice.

Voiding does not physically delete the history

A voided record remains available as historical information but is marked so that it should no longer be relied upon as an active service log.

Keep corrections factual

Do not describe service logs as tamper-proof or immutable. Avoid unnecessary tenant personal data when correcting a record or entering a void reason.
