I renewed a certificate—why am I still getting reminders?
It's most likely due to timing. Reminders are sent once daily, so if you updated the certificate after that day's emails went out, you might receive one last reminder.
How the Reminder System Works
Daily Check at 04:00 UK Time
Our system checks all certificate expiry dates once per day, around 04:00 UK time (BST/GMT). Emails are scheduled based on the data found during *that specific check*.
The Most Common Reason
Emails Sent
The daily reminder emails are sent out around 04:00 based on the old expiry date.
You Update CertNudge
Later that same day (e.g., at 10:00), you update the certificate details in CertNudge with the new expiry date.
Result: One Last Reminder
You receive the reminder that was already scheduled before you saved the update. This is normal.
When Reminders Will Stop
Problem Solved Tomorrow
As long as you have correctly updated the certificate's details (either via 'Renew' or 'Edit' and then 'Save'), the system will see the new date during its next check (tomorrow around 04:00). You will not receive any further reminders for this certificate after that.
Double-Check Your Update
If reminders continue for more than one day after you updated, please double-check that:
- You definitely updated the correct certificate record.
- You entered the new Issue Date and Expiry Date accurately.
- You clicked the 'Save' button after making the changes.
