I renewed a certificate why am I still getting reminders?

Reminder Schedule & Notifications

A reminder may still arrive if the email was already being processed when you renewed or updated the certificate.

CertNudge rechecks queued reminders before sending and cancels messages that are no longer due. However, an email that has already progressed through processing may still be delivered.

Check the current certificate record

Confirm that the replacement or updated certificate is the current record for the property.

Current record

Make sure the renewed certificate is current and has not been archived.

Correct expiry date

Check that the new expiry date matches the source certificate and was saved against the correct record.

Correct property

Confirm that the certificate was added to the intended property.

Previous record

Check that an older certificate has not accidentally remained current with its previous expiry date.

What happens to a queued reminder?

Before sending, CertNudge checks whether the certificate is still due for that reminder.

If the updated record is no longer due, the queued reminder is cancelled. An email already being processed may still arrive.

What if reminders continue?

If you continue receiving reminders for the old certificate, check the record again and note:

  • The property and certificate type
  • The old and new expiry dates
  • Whether the renewed certificate is current or archived
  • The date and time of each reminder received

Reminder timing depends on recorded information

CertNudge uses the certificate status and expiry date recorded in the application. It does not independently verify the replacement certificate or its dates.

Still receiving reminders?

Email support@certnudge.co.uk with the organisation name, certificate details and reminder times. Do not send tenant personal data unless it is necessary.
