What happens if I upload the wrong file type or it’s too big?

File Storage & Document Formats

If your file is too large or the wrong format, CertNudge catches it instantly - and gives you a clear message so you can fix and retry.

?? What Triggers an Upload Rejection

  • File is too large: Over 5 MB
  • File type is unsupported: Not a PDF, JPG, or PNG
  • File has wrong extension or MIME type: e.g. renaming a Word doc to ".pdf" won't work

?? How the App Responds

  • Client-side validation: The uploader checks file type and size before it ever leaves your browser
  • Server re-validation: If anything slips through, the server double-checks and blocks invalid files
  • Error message shown: Upload failed: file must be PDF and under 5 MB
  • No file is saved until all checks pass
How to fix it

If your file is too large, try compressing it using a tool like iLovePDF or exporting at lower scan quality.

Once corrected, simply click Retry and your upload will go through instantly.
