Don't worry, if a certificate appears expired due to a date error on the original document or during data entry, you can easily correct the dates in CertNudge.

How to Correct the Dates

Fixing an incorrect date only takes a moment:

Find the Certificate

Locate the certificate with the incorrect date on your dashboard or within its property details page.

Click to Edit

Click the 'Edit' action button for that certificate record.

Correct the Date(s)

Adjust the 'Issue Date' and/or 'Expiry Date' fields using the calendar picker to match the actual, correct dates shown on the certificate document.

Save Changes

Click the 'Save' button to confirm the correction.

What Changes Automatically

 
Instant System Updates

As soon as you save the corrected date:

  • The certificate's status badge will immediately update (e.g., flip from Red to Green or Amber).
  • Your dashboard statistics (compliance %, counts) will instantly reflect the change.
  • Any incorrect reminder emails based on the wrong date will be automatically cancelled or adjusted by the system during its next check (07:00 UK time).

Double-Check Dates During Entry

Engineers sometimes make errors or use non-standard date formats. Always take a moment to double-check the Issue Date and Expiry Date on the physical certificate when first entering it into CertNudge to ensure your records (and reminders) are accurate from the start.
