When exactly will CertNudge remind me about an expiring certificate?

Reminder Schedule & Notifications

Eligible certificate records are selected exactly 60, 30 and 14 days before their recorded expiry date.

CertNudge also uses a final reminder window covering the last seven days before expiry.

Reminder milestones

60 days

Early reminder

An early prompt to review the record and begin planning any renewal work.

30 days

Follow-up reminder

A further prompt as the recorded expiry date approaches.

14 days

Two-week reminder

A reminder to check progress and confirm any necessary arrangements.

0–7 days

Final reminder window

One final reminder may be sent when the record is first selected within the last seven days before expiry.

The final reminder is not always sent exactly seven days before expiry

The final reminder is recorded as the seven-day milestone, but its selection window covers zero to seven days before expiry. A record first becoming eligible inside that window can receive one final reminder.

When does CertNudge check for due reminders?

Due checks currently run three times daily using Europe/London time:

04:05 12:05 20:05

These are processing times rather than guaranteed email arrival times.

Email delivery time can vary

Arrival time depends on queue processing and the recipient's email provider. Successful delivery and a particular arrival time cannot be guaranteed.

Check the recorded expiry date

Reminder timing is based on the date entered in CertNudge. You remain responsible for checking that date against the source document and arranging renewals when required.
