Which file types and sizes are supported for certificates?
CertNudge accepts PDF, JPEG/JPG, PNG and HEIC files up to 5 MB each.
These formats can be used for certificate documents and supporting evidence in the main certificate workflow.

Commonly used for digital certificates and multi-page documents.
JPEG or JPG
Suitable for photographs or scanned images of certificate pages.
PNG
Suitable for clear document images and screenshots.
HEIC
Commonly used for photographs taken on supported mobile devices.
File-size limit
The maximum file size is 5 MB for each uploaded file.
The limit helps keep uploads and document access manageable across different devices and internet connections.
How files are checked
CertNudge checks the file type on the server as well as reviewing the file name and extension. Renaming an unsupported file does not make it suitable for upload.
If an upload is rejected
- Confirm that the file is a PDF, JPEG/JPG, PNG or HEIC file.
- Check that the individual file is no larger than 5 MB.
- Try exporting or scanning the document again using your device’s trusted local settings.
Before uploading
- Check readability: Make sure names, dates, results and certificate details can be read clearly.
- Check completeness: Include every page needed to understand the certificate or supporting evidence.
- Check the correct property: Confirm that the document is being added to the intended property and certificate record.
Do not upload tenant personal data
CertNudge is intended for certificate evidence and related compliance records. Do not upload tenancy agreements, identification documents or files containing unnecessary tenant personal information.
