Why do you cap size at 5MB?
CertNudge limits each uploaded file to 5 MB to keep uploads, document access and storage manageable.
The limit applies to supported PDF, JPEG/JPG, PNG and HEIC certificate and evidence files.
Why is there a 5 MB limit?
More manageable uploads
Smaller files are generally easier to upload across mobile devices, slower connections and different browsers.
More manageable document access
Keeping file sizes reasonable can reduce the time and data required to access uploaded evidence.
Sustainable storage
A per-file limit helps CertNudge manage storage and bandwidth across the service.
Appropriate evidence files
CertNudge is intended for certificate evidence and related property compliance records rather than large general-purpose files.
What if my file is larger than 5 MB?
Export or scan the document again using a trusted reduced-size or standard-quality setting on your own device.
- Reduce image resolution: Avoid using the highest camera or scanner quality when it is unnecessary.
- Crop unused areas: Remove background or blank space from document photographs.
- Use document-scan settings: Select a standard document or PDF export option where available.
- Check the result: Make sure every required page and important detail remains clear and readable.
Protect the document
Avoid uploading certificate evidence to an unfamiliar online compression service. Prefer trusted tools and export settings available on your computer, scanner or mobile device.
