Why does the “Expiring Soon” card say 4 when the urgent banner mentions only 2?
The "Expiring Soon" card and the red "Urgent Banner" use different time thresholds to give you both early planning warnings and critical last-minute alerts.
Planning Window vs. Urgent Alert
"Expiring Soon" Card
- Counts certificates expiring in 60 days or less (Amber status).
- Gives you an early warning for planning renewals.
- Provides a broad time window for scheduling.
Urgent Banner
- Only triggers for certificates expiring in 7 days or less (or already expired).
- Highlights critical items needing immediate action.
- Focuses attention on imminent deadlines.
Example Scenario
Your Certificates:
5
Counted in "Expiring Soon" Card (all Amber & Red)
3
Triggering the Urgent Banner (Expired + 7 days or less)
2
In the 8-59 day 'planning window'
The 8 to 59 Day Window
Planning vs. Crisis Mode
Certificates expiring in 8 to 59 days will appear in the "Expiring Soon" card but will *not* trigger the urgent banner:
- This is your ideal window for planning and booking renewals without rushing.
- The 'Amber' status is a visible reminder, but it's not yet a critical emergency.
- Use this time to contact contractors and schedule inspections conveniently.
Progressive Urgency System
60+ Days

8-59 Days

Practical Workflow
8 to 59 Day Range
- Appears in "Expiring Soon" for visibility.
- Time to research contractors and compare quotes.
- Book inspections at convenient, non-urgent times.
≤7 Day Range (or Expired)
- Triggers the Urgent Banner for immediate attention.
- Emergency booking likely required.
- Risk of compliance gap if already expired.
Smart Alerting System
The different thresholds work together to give you layered warnings. The "Expiring Soon" count gives you ample planning time, while the Urgent Banner ensures critical deadlines don't sneak up on you. This prevents both early panic and last-minute scrambling for appointments.
